It’s pretty rare for NYC to have their first 80° day before Newark. But the lack of leaves on the trees to block the ASOS coupled with the bay breeze at Newark allowed them to do it. Still snow on the ground in many areas and very little if any in the way of spring foliage. Good MUCAPE and near record PWATS will probably result in some locally heavy downpours. We could see our first 85° readings of the season in the warm spots after the first 80° highs yesterday. Good agreement with GEFS and EPS for that period before ridge goes away after the 20th.
