as noted, the NAM is kinda strange with its overnight split, leaving DC in a minimum - the convective scheme may be doing some odd things.   The NAM nest displayed above really likes northern MD.   The HRRR likes everyone from DC north up into southern PA.   But they all agree on after midnight timing.

That bad boy was rotating? Very nice. Some of us up here are reduced to prayer at the NAM altar and looking at cumulus for our kicks.

Looks to have been some. Had a nice appendage on radar until it congealed into a line. Lots of winds reports popping up now throughout eastern Roanoke. This was taken just as the storm was over those areas where the damage reports are coming in.

Note: I know it's not the greatest film job in the world and there's a giant pole in the way, but this was a jump out of the car and get a quick video moment. Still shows the storm's general structure.

0.20" so far here in Oak Hill.  Had just enough of a gap in rain to mow the lawn.  Then started to water all my new trees and bushes, it started raining, but kept going anyway.  Hoping that my soaking them will have a similar effect to washing the car...

I wasn't singling you out. The severe folks will lose it if we go to a torch with no real boomers much like the snow weenies do when we get extended cold and nothing to show for it.

I can feel the despair rising.

I'm not close to losing it, but this weather is as bad as it gets for me.

I so wish for several bright sunny days. I literally can't remember the last day it didn't rain at my house.

This is the equivalent of 10 straight days of 60's in January for me.

Seriously?

I didn't have any rain here in Oak Hill yesterday... or Saturday... or last Wednesday and Thursday.
