jamesnichols89
Yup, I just saw lightning about ten minutes ago. Scott, I'm writing a novel, but I'm writing a short story off of the novel, its about a major to catastrophic winter storm that dumps copious amounts of snow on Cape Cod and eastern MA paralyzing the region. MY character at that time is thirteen years old where he is visiting his cousins from Cape Cod. I need help getting the details write on a meteorological level, do you think you can help me, it would much appreciated. I wrote 1,400 words today alone already. ORH_wxman
Man, Killington and Mount snow are getting pounded on their webcams. That's great to see...things looked a bit uglier about 3-4 hours ago.
Lava Rock
How often does a storm like this roll through and then shift backwards for another slug of precip? If only this were all snow.

Boston Bulldog
Sunapee still getting pounded on webcam (If you shift it into the light you can see). Cool little cold tuck in Sullivan Country right now, as the r/s line seems to be on both the eastern and southern county lines.

powderfreak
We've gone over now to rain/freezing rain/sleet. Ha hair literally changes every couple minutes. BTV sticking with 6-10" overnight. I think my 5-10" is going to bust hard but who knows. About 1.5" of white material down.
Randy4Confluence
Car wash like rains here at N Station in BOS. Umbrella does very little with the wind whipping around. Edit: thankful for the 'T' and for being able to walk underground for a certain distance.

You'll probably flash over to big aggregates and pound for a while when the good lift gets in there...that's what happened down south in Killington, Sunapee and Mount Snow...they were kind of ugly early on and now have been piling it up just hammering down aggregates. phil882
Very wet snow here in Guilderland which is a touch north and west of Albany... looks like the deformation band may try to pivot over the region. Temp: 33.0 F Dewpoint: 33.0 F

snowgeek
33.7F with moderate snow. Big wet aggregates must be bright banding. It's coming down pretty good, but not as heavy as it looks on radar. Ground is a white slushy mess.

icebreaker5221
That band over Albany doesn't look to move very much over the next few hrs as it just sorta pivots / changes orientation without much change in mean position. Someone could pick up some really steep accums while someone 10mi east gets shafted.

ENYsnow
already seeing some 3-5" reports in the hills just west of ALB.. wouldn't be surprised to see some 12-15" reports if this band pivots.
