March 6th-8th Ocean Storm Obs

8mi across town. I may be underestimating my total since I did not measure overnight so I had some compaction. Maybe 15"?

Check that. Friend in a neighboring subdivision posted a FB photo of 14" about an hour ago and it's been snowing heavy for that hour so 15" sounds more likely.

ORH is 101.7", and I believe ORH ended 10-11 with 98.2" or so. Too very close in snowfall totals but very different winters.

Long way to go for ORH too, it's only March 8th and I'm pretty confident they'll have some more accumulations in the next 4 weeks.

Did you measure every 6 hrs?

Couldn't do it every 6 hours but measured 3 different times once on thurs afternoon, once this morning and then at the end this afternoon.  I'd probably be a touch higher if I measured every 6 hours.  The spot I chose isn't exactly ideal either since there's too many houses around but I picked the best spot around.

Good enough for me...just trying to gauge my total too. Sounds right.

Luckily for you the guy at Logan can't measure or you'd be signing over you're meteorology degree

I didn't work this, but there's a difference between explaining how rare this is and what happeend..vs just being stubborn and ignoring every model the day before a storm.

6.8" here... oh well.

So happy for you guys out east. I could have done without Kevin getting 20"+ but it is what it is.

Totally funky mesoscale banding did some weird stuff in CT. Numbers were all over the place.

Not sure I would forecast this event any differently... the synoptics had me intrigued/excited so my gut was to go bullish and I probably should have been more gung ho particularly by late Wednesday and Thursday morning.

I'm feeling bad for DC...especially in light of our wonderful dumpage. I wonder if DT jumped off a roof?

Thanks Jerry, this has been brutal. I guess the payback for my 94" in 09-10 is brutal. It has been over 770 days since I have seen a 2" storm :axe: . I am happy you guys are getting raked enjoy.
