The one part of it I can square is that the force that would cause tree damage is the wind at canopy top level. Like knowing what wind speed at that 80-100 foot level above ground starts tree damage would be important. It’s sort of like tarmac temps/winds vs wooded area temps/winds. Pros and cons to both sitings. The weenie set up is temp close to ground and wind 100 feet overhead. Not alot of people have an ideal choice of placement for a weather station (myself included).
