OBS: 1/25-26 Snow/Sleet

Pix 11 snow forecast was a bust in pretty sure.  For once nws and local media did a good call.  Upton first call was laughed at and it ended up right cough cough nbm cough cough.. lol

I took a blend of the Eduggs and the DonS models and assumed the NAM might be right about the sleet. But I think my broken abacus was a problem.

How is the ice situation up through Middlesex / Union / Essex / the city etc? 

Down here it’s an ice skating rink; bad. Be safe all. Temp crashing too, 23F and falling.

Almost always happens when the storm comes in aggressive and heavy that the surface never warms up the way it's modeled to.

Wife and I went for a Jebwalk on Roosevelt Island.  After I explained the concept of a Jebwalk to her (which she found super-endearing), we measured a 11.8” here.  Solid storm in what’s turning out to be a solid winter.  I continue to believe we’ve passed the nadir of craptastic winters.

Damn looks like NW Suffolk cleaned up again. There’s a 12.8” report from Commack which isn’t me. Hauppauge and local towns also over 12”.  People must think I make it up, but this area usually does really well in SWFES.

Light snow, another coating on top of what fell. I’ll go with the 11” others in my area have since it was tough to measure and I think some blowing snow/stuff got onto my table I use to measure. What a mess. I wonder what liquid equivalents people have?

Central Park received 1.80" precipitation yesterday. The 0z GGEM was, by far, the closest model. The RGEM was a distant second.
