So does the NAM. That’s why NWS put the statement out. I expect at least some snow tv for many between dc and Baltimore today. 1/2 max somewhere seems most likely if it materializes

The fundamental problem with the lows is that the airmass is potentially historic in length, but not severity.  So, we are getting very cold in the favored spots, but overall it isn't just enough of a cold airmass to challenge some of the more fun numbers for many of us.

is there a good explanation for the big misses from the various model outputs?  Was there a model that was better on our actual realized temps?

Still running just about 5 degrees above modeled temps around Baltimore. Had me topping out around 21 degrees around 2 PM. It’s already 25

It seems like it was a problem during the cold spell last January. My forecasted highs were in the high 20's. I had drip drip and 34 every afternoon. Yesterday my forecast high was 26. When I hit 30 I figured drip drip time was coming. 

I'm seeing clouds coming in from our afternoon possible afternoon flizzard.

I was seeing plenty of drip drip even when it was 18 degrees and sunny the other morning. Never ceases to amaze me how strong the suns impact is.

Low if 12 here and I’m noticing humidity is not bone dry overnight and wondering if the snow pack interaction is keeping dew points higher and squashing the radiational?

MUCH warmer this morning at 14.7 degrees vs the 1.8 yesterday. Mainly because we clouded over after dark last night (along with some flurries) and the wind. Had a 41 mph gust. The 1.8 that carried into next day until about 8 am NOT a record, that still stands from 1987 at -4. Currently 22.0/8.2 with W 5 gusting to 12 mph winds under partly cloudy skies. WC 16 to 10 degrees.
