I didn't bottom out until 4:28 am at 5.8, up to 6.5 at 7 am CoCoRaHS report and now 7.9/1.8 at 8:50 am.

Disappointed that we didn’t de-couple and go calm even in some of the normal inversion spots. Easily could have been 10f colder last night. Single digits even for places in NE MD.

yeah I don't think i've ever seen that.  Growing up in VA, I went to city schools but was in governor's school in HS for half the day, which was subject to the surrounding county schedule (and Augusta county has some folks living upwards of 4,000' as some folks on here can attest).  So many times school would be delayed or cancelled when we would be fine.  I don't ever remember them closing only some schools.

If we can get the clouds out tonight, might be one of those situations where lows beat last night’s. I feel like the models always warm up too quick as a cold spell is departing.

Cloudy, temps in the lower 20's, snowcover. What an impressive deep winter day for any time of the winter. I've seen a lot of winters where we never get a day like this even during peak climo.
