It looks pretty rainy next week too. I see no drought lol
MillvilleWx
56F for the low at mi casa this morning. Glorious start to the days, but I am actually looking forward to hopefully any rain this week. Been pretty dry and some of the brown starting to creep into the neighborhood after being lush green for almost two months.

Indeed, my lawn is finally starting to get crisp/brown in spots (just in the last week) in Silver Spring, after being green and lush all year. Mowed every 7 days lol
midatlanticweather
Oh ya! Browning for sure, I am also not cutting 3 inch+ amounts off the lawn every week either. Not good for grass planting season, which is here in about a week! Need some moisture for sure. Hoping tomorrow surprises, but when dryness is the trend, Loudoun has not done well in the past. I also do not like the trajectory of moisture tomorrow as it seems to get a slight rain shadow from the mountains when moving west to east. Still got down to 49 last night which is wild due to such big temperature swings.
wxmeddler
Dry soil is a huge factor in getting larger diurnal swings. We're pretty dry statewide at 4" and getting to the point at 8" where some types of grasses are having trouble accessing water due to their shallower root systems.

You should probably flush the toilet. 1

dailylurker
I love the dry weather. Great for business and my garden has improved. My area has been a swamp all summer. We received almost 3" from a storm before the dryer weather moved in so my area is fine.
WxUSAF
I know it’s probably mostly or all heat and drought stress but there’s definitely foliage color on quite a number of plants. Not just maples.
CAPE
I haven't cut grass in weeks. Probably do it a couple more times and put the mower away. Going to overseed with a white clover/grass seed mixture in the next couple weeks.

Not even 1.25" since July 16th.

high risk
The Wednesday evening hi-res guidance is very encouraging for Thursday late afternoon / early evening convection, especially over central Maryland.
