One week left and the driest August on record (at DCA) is absolutely in play

This looks great for dry and cooler than normal weather for the area. Not so good for rain. Any disturbance that tries to gain latitude will likely end up well offshore.

Usually we pay for a cool late August/ early September with a blowtorch October. It doesn't have any sway on the winter.

Yea I remember that. I think October 2018 we got to like 98° the first week of October. It was terrible.

Game cam reported 52F at 7am at the cabin.  Looks like some fog was in the area as well.  Mid 60s in DC and feeling pretty comfortable.  It's pretty crispy here, leaves falling all over the sidewalks, not that it's helped with mosquitoes.  69F down in Calvert right now, I'm going to head back down that way after dinner tonight.

For as much as we suffered through June & July; JJA as a season is gonna come back looking average.

Indeed. We've earned a nice couple weeks, I think.  Late August-early Sept is a great time to have normal/below normal high temps. We usually seem to excel at getting those in March/April :D
