the megalopolis, famously not existing until 1990

I mean there’s a lag there between pumping in the CO2, GH effect growing, oceans warming, and arctic ice melting. But we’re doing a lot of things to F up the planet. I don’t disagree with you at all there. My only argument with you is that it hasn’t been a “hot” summer up here.

Departures at CON so far this summer...

Jun -- Max: -2.4F Min: +0.5F
Jul -- Max: +0.8F Min: +3.6F
Aug -- Max: -4.3F Min: -1.4F

Add a ton of rain and clouds to that and we have a cool look in the extended.

For my locale:

June          Max:  -4.1   Min:  +2.0
July           Max:   +1.1   Min:  +4.5
Aug 1-18   Max:  -4.4   Min:    0.0

79 days     Max:  -2.1   Min:   +2.5

Precip:    16.68"  +5.19"   Currently in 4th place for JJA.  2009 (23.82") is out of reach - I hope! - but another 2.42" would tie for 2nd.

Floyd must have come close.  We had 5.9" RA and gusts to near 40, and we're pretty far inland.  That's "only" 24 years back.

Floyd was pretty tame even on the south coast. I was working in Falmouth MA, winds were maybe 40-50mph and there was heavy rain and flooding, but wasn't too damaging.  Similar to Bertha or fran iirc

Floyd was downgraded to TS and maybe even to TD before it got to New England. Tons of rain though.

Bob the eye went right over Bristol. Lots of damage here. I was 13 and remember helping remove tree branches and leaves all over the place.

Hot as ballz in Europe.  Another day over 30C and sweating walking around.

Checking in back home, looks like MVL at home is 63F at 2pm… ha. August 19th and low-60s in the afternoon?

lol at SLK at 53F.  That’s like woodstove weather in August.

You know it’s going to be like 85F on Halloween at this point with kids sweating through costumes.
