Definitely two opposing forces. Very strong arctic high but also a beast of a SE ridge with a deep trough to the west. It will be interesting to see which one ends up winning from this point....whether we trend warmer or colder from here on out.

sounds like the same conversation that broke out before the sleet bomb a couple weeks back ...

What about it. 60's can wait until April.

Go out and enjoy it. Sucks it won’t snow, but at least you can enjoy it.

I'll be enjoying the cold tomorrow skiing with my son.

Dropped the cold trend it had at 18z. Looks more like the warmer globals this run.

It may be hard to get that much further south given the 500mb pattern. Deep trough with that low moving west. I suppose some very shallow cool air may move in, but that’s just a cold rain if so. Not sure the sub 32 air would make it much past where it’s modeled.

Agree.

This is another non-starter.

I haven't even bothered to look. Call me when there's a storm not trying to punch the mix line past Quebec City.

Gfs significantly colder . Looks closest to 18z nam

some ice from mht over to Dover nh

The GFS with 32 shoved back into Mass is a huge red flag. That model loves to drive a warm front to YUL.

All that confluence over the Maritimes would definitely support a nice high in a favorable CAD position.

It will be interesting that it all starts with a backdoor more or less.

Pretty ridiculous for LEW Sunday morning

20-25 temp drop over just a few hours at the surface when the highest amount of precip is falling is a big ice signal.

By MLK Day we’re wintry.  Looks tasty.

If you're using the GFS then you're gonna get burnt.

Euro is much milder.

Brian keeps his snow while we tan. Sunday could be extremely warm, esp in CT. Good for Sugarloaf. The backdoor thing is interesting. It's weird to see the GFS most aggressive. I think pike south will torch Sunday.

No hyperbole, windows open, grilling, kids playing, and probably some plant bulbs pushing up in spots. I'm down. These recent shitty weekends with the kids has me losing my mind. Maybe a little Zach Brown band playing with an IPA in hand.

Already booked a Tee time for Saturday, I’m gonna enjoy it. But man it just doesn’t feel right
