it looks like October will end up averaging close to 59.0 in NYC this year...58.8 to be exact as per noaa forecasts...the average is 57.2...remember the 30 year average from 1940-1969 was 58.5...since the 1960's Octobers average temp has gone down...the October average temp cpmpared with some analogs...

1964...55.0

1966...56.2

1978...54.9

1980...55.0

1983...57.9

2005...57.9

the last time October averaged 58.8 was 1942...a la nina after three straight el nino years...1942-43 was extremely cold at times with average snowfall...

first week of November looks to be above avg and warm. 

Looks like highs In the upper 60s Saturday with some low 70s Sunday...two more days Iater next week
