Dry air certainly hasn't arrived yet.  75F dew right now

It's really close, per the HGR and Mappy obs.     I think you can figure out where the boundary is by the new line of heavy showers forming right along I-95 northeast of Baltimore.   Will be interesting to see how far south that can build.

Hottest August on record is still in play at the airports.  DCA is +5 and needs to stay above +4.7.  IAD is +4.3 and needs to stay above +3.3.   BWI is +4.4 and needs to get above +5.0.

After this brief respite it looks like we mini-torch again as the normals fade to the mid-80s by the end of the month.

For all of the hype, today is going to be something like a -1 at DCA.

The tragedy of shifting expectations.  This is a big part of why the public doesn't understand climate change.  Nobody knows what "normal" actually means.

But I digress...

Wimpy airmass. We go from 90s for 45 days...then get a 2 day respite  of mid 80s then 90s for the next 10+ days. What corner did we turn? Looks like we're on the same road to me. Embrace the heat I guess. It will have to end sometime middle or end of September anyway.
