Feb 21-22 Storm Obs Thread

Radar is super misleading my way, showing light rates but it's definitely not light snow at all

Same here. Radar just doesn't pick up heavier returns in many storms in our general area.

Oh man, heaviest rates of the day. White fog out there. This band is killer...and training...

I'm still not getting anything so I'm not sure which model was the winner as the GFS and Euro had me getting hit hard this 3 hours and te NAM didn't but they hitting DC looks like it was the right thing to do and that's what the GFS and Euro did.  It's all about where the band sets up.  As usual you northern guys won.

it's sinking too...which is nice for me....RAP doesn't believe in any lull...maybe a small dry slot well west of me and you

Picked up another inch in the past 35-40 minutes.  5" now.

Haven't been out for a walk, assumed we had like 3-4"

Richmond has reclaimed its rightful title of the screwzone with this one. If you've watched radar today the area has been almost laughably avoided by precipitation, and now, even as it tries to move in, dry slots keep forming right around the metro area. All of this of course has allowed RIC's temp to rise with no precip, assuring rain by the time the column moistens up around here. Seen these before, so we aren't new to the situation.

Just got home.  Unbelievable.  At 1:20pm I measured 5.4" in three places.  5.4" in 4.4 hours.  Another hour of super rates on tap as well.

Clarksburg, MD -  I just measured @ 1:30  5.7"  incredible.

Radar is firehose from here to Kentucky. I'm sitting at 19* and if we flip....could get nasty.

Rockville is getting, well, rocked. Haven't measured but easily as much if not more than Presidents Day already.  Just went for a jebwalk after a trip through the crawlspace to unfreeze a shower pipe :-|

21.7 in Twinbrook

I seriously just measured an about 7/8 of an inch in a half hour.  3 inches total since 11:00 AM.  Baltimore County - Catonsville, MD.  This is amazing.  The radar suggests that  I will see at least another three hours of this.

Nowhere near here.

Awesome. Checking in between periods. I see fairfax was upgraded to WSW but not Arlington. Still looks good on radar

There are folks not too far to DC's south and southeast who are getting majorly screwed so far...Nobody in DC/Arlington should be boo-hooing.....We've been fortunate not to be 10 miles to the south and east...

It's piling up...the 5" was in 4 spots on asphalt (not snowboard....but it stuck immediately).

It's still not Saturday night, but it's not far off.  WAY better than Monday.  I'm over 20" on the season
