  1. Ripping at Wintergreen now. I’d say back to inch an hour. 18 degrees
  2. Maybe 4-6 inches of snow here at 3600 feet up at Wintergreen. Crazy wind and drifting. Plows out. 21 degrees. Great storm
  3. 22 degrees at 3600 feet at Wintergreen, Va. Maybe 2-3 inches out there. Impossible to measure. Wind is hammering
  4. Don’t post much outside the RVA/Central Va thread but I’ll be at Wintergreen at 3600 feet for this one. Thinking that might be a pretty great location all things considered. Will let y’all know how it shakes out up there
  5. A certain portion of Central Va. RIC is at 4.3 inches for the season as of today.
  6. Richmond folks aren’t. Right there with you. 4.3 inches of snow to date at the airport. Brutal
  7. Nice mood flakes this morning…still not really making up for yet another winter of near miss after near miss. We are the capital of dustings.
  8. Sounds right. This storm pretty much epitomizes what a terrible spot RVA is in for snow. Incredible pattern and cold and what does RIC have to show for it? Maybe 5 inches of total snow for the winter so far? Sheesh.
  9. Definitely an improvement. But yeah several inches in DC and more in Tidewater while we get like an inch? What a chef’s kiss that would be to how often we manage to miss out in every way possible. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen!
  10. See how it goes but man in this beautiful pattern Richmond is kind of the big loser to date. Missed to the north and west. Now maybe to the south and east.
  11. In West End of city had sleet for a bit mixed in but now it’s heavier again and all snow
  12. Flash freeze is a thing that really about never happens here. I think best case for us is a few inches of snow, some sleet and then hope for a dry slot or drizzle instead of pouring rain. Not like some huge rush of cold air is coming behind this. This stinks as we are so cold prior to the storm- but it’s also a very common RVA area situation. Is what it is
  13. Great view of John Paul Jones Arena there!
  14. Yeah around 3-4 inches out by Libbie/Grove. An inch of ice covered by about 3 inches of powder. It’s beautiful outside. I will take this after that incredibly warm December!
  15. West end of city lots of compaction but easily 3 inches or so.
  16. Incredible rates in West End of the city. Felt good about this radar. Paying off. Grass finally disappearing.
  17. Normally not optimistic but thinking we are going to get in on some great rates as this storm starts to pivot. To my very amateur eye the radar looks good moving forward. My main concern was getting the change over to stick and that has happened.
  18. I was just looking at Accuweather radar showing lots of precip to come and fact that the snow line is crashing south now
  19. Holding to all snow now in west end of the city. Radar looks like this gets pretty fun later in the morning
  20. Been a rain/sleet mix in the west end of the city but we just went over to big ole parachutes
  21. This feels like a mix of March 2009 & December 2009 to me. Richmond riding that line. Probably going to see an impressive accumulation gradient.
  22. Just now a flip to sleet in west end of the city
  23. Really need colder air to show up in the higher levels. Still time I hope
  24. Looks like a real model trend of bringing in more cold air upstairs for this one. If that means we stay more sleet than freezing rain I’m 100% for it!
