They are reachin' stating it never really went away.  And parsing it down to just cntrl NH,as if adjacent watersheds that flow into the area mean nothing and ignoring the overall no drought state of much NNE at the time.

It was a fun few months but we’re back to being the armpit of the nation’s weather.

picked up just over an inch of rain. the grass seed I put down 1 1/2 weeks ago is sprouting like crazy, can't even see some of the patches i filled in, all covered with grass now.

ACATT wanted to end the relentless torch we’ve been in. So you’re now left with a week + straight of rain and mild temps starting  Sunday .  Preparing us for a whole winter of the same thing with little to no snow

Both Euro and GFS OP want to develop some sort of low along the stalled front later in the week. Ensembles have some signal on this too. Could at least be something beneficial in terms of rain for eastern areas. But its almost not even worth looking at anything 5-7 days out anymore

Had planned for some seeding, but just too dry and not going to tax the well water. 1.05" on the month which isn't doing anything. we dry.

Met summer was warm, 6th warmest of 29 here, but September is running 1° BN so far and the GYX forecast doesn't show a warm-up.

Had 0.27", not a drought buster but the forecast was less than a tenth.  First time since early last month to get more than the forecast.   baby steps

Yeah, I'm just not sure how much I buy it. We've seen plenty of times, especially early in the season where guidance gets way too coastal happy. 

I'll say though, I am not looking forward to Fall or Winter weather forecasting. I don't think this has gotten the proper attention this deserves but the reduction in balloon launches I think is going to have severe negative impacts on models and forecasting. In fact, we've even seen it this summer. There have been multiple instances where local NWS offices in the central Plains/Midwest and I think even from SPC where they noted the reduction in launches having a significant impact on even short-term severe forecasting. 

I know we have better equipment and technology from satellites but balloon launches are still a critical part in the modeling process.

It has been dry here.  The irrigation ponds at the golf course have dropped considerably over the last few weeks.

I would just caution that when models start backing in deep layer lows at 5-7 day leads, it's usually symbolic if not processing as though 'getting ready' to collapse one way or another.
