Just curious.  Does that 1.82"/hr. land on a top 10 hourly list for CP?  Are the totals from Ida remnants at the top of the list?

3.00" so far. Just relentless torrential rain since it all started at 7pm so averaging around 1.5"/hr for the past 2 hours now. Had a rainfall rate of over 4"/hr at one point.

Rockaways/Long Beach have gotten some good ones this summer. I think it's a first for an actual tornado impact there, I think the last warning was in 2007. So many times the storms just go poof once they hit the marine layer there. In August the waters are warm enough to lessen that effect.

I'm guilty of it myself but short range models definitely eyed this area for good rains for the last 24 hours. Many of the other big events this summer were definitely trending NW of the city at the end and the writing was on the wall.

That's at Sun and Surf Beach Club. I grew up in Queens and went to Silver Point Beach Club just east of there for many years. Sad to see this happen there. That appears to be at least high end EF-0 and quite possibly EF-1 from the several posts I've looked at. Haven't seen anything that would make me think EF-2.

No one wanted this mess looks like my old haunts had a tornado I'm sure the power was out there for a few hours it always happens in weather like this.

It rained here for 6 hours between 12:30 and 6:30 with temperatures in the low 60s my heat turned on. I didn't lose power but my TV signal went out from 2:30 to 6:30 when the sun came back out the TV signal came back. It always goes out in heavy rain. Got 1.5 inches in 6 hours so no flooding but lots of water ponded in the grass.

Radar estimate for this one is actually pretty close to accurate and maybe even a bit low. Very efficient rain maker. 
 

2.95” here, will end up over 3”. The short term models nailed this event.

Omg this is definitely not normal for summer the ground is supposed to be dry in the summer lol that's why people can go to the beach and our baseball stadiums don't need to be covered with domes.
