pazzo83
pretty bad damage just to my south in Cathedral Heights over to Cleveland Park and further east in to Petworth. Ian thinks it's a microburst. About 1" here - finally some good rain. I was downtown running when it hit - minor street flooding.
ThePhotoGuy
Rained at least 6 separate times at Deep Creek throughout the day today. A little break just before sunset and then it started to rain again.

Found a traffic cam at 1D and could see suspicious stuff SW of me. Being in a ground level condo I did not have the best view. Would have went out to look but even then would have had to go out to the center of the circle here. So we just found the safest place to be and watched radar. I had been watching the line come in but just as I thought it was going to be fine our phones went off. Likewise lol. It was actually the weather channel app that warned us before the EAS alert to our phones. I have a livesteam on my Facebook where you can see the clouds twisiting. The sky was a worse blueish green than last week! I swear we don't usually have weather this interesting, only when you visit LOL

Paleocene
One of the lucky ones here in moco yesterday, about an inch fell in an hour as that line grew and sorta stalled for a bit north of DC. Looking green and fresh this am.

Because I have been saying I guess I need to leave my house for it to get rain. I joke about me being a rain/storm deterrent. Some of the craziest weather I have been in for a while out here. Anyone here heard anything about Lovettesville with a lot of tree damage? Have a friend who says they think it was a tornado not seeing anything that would suggest that.

kgottwald
Never thought I'd see the day when San Diego would be muggier than DC! They've been getting 70-degree dewpoints lately.
wxmeddler
Getting a little worried about the Sunday / Monday rain event... the setup seems fairly primed to produce flooding somewhere in the ridge/valley and piedmont region. ThePhotoGuy
With temps in the low 60s and windy conditions, it felt like fall in Western MD except for all the green trees. Muddy Creek Falls

I can see the discrepancy even locally - northern Augusta County toward Harrisonburg is so green and lush, towering fields of corn- south toward Stuarts Draft the same... In between well - brown grass thats crunchy now... Highest event for the month was 0.44 ..

wxdude64
Absolutely wonderful morning here! Clear skies and 58.1/57.0 with a light W wind at 2 mph. Yesterday's high was 77.4 with NW winds and partly cloudy skies, a great day to be outside doing stuff. Today is looking like a repeat.

IronTy
What the flip? Just arrived at the cabin, 57F on top of the mountain with a stuff breeze. Had to put on a sweater, feels like fall! Lighting for moths tonight is probably going to be a letdown. 2

wxdude64
Well.... my sunny early morning has gone partly to mostly cloudy?? The forecast is 100% sun today. Glancing at satellite you can see the clouds filling in over the area from WV. I'll blame the NW flow.

That had to be close to a record low max for a day without precipitation, even out here. Hope you have a fun weekend!

Hopefully a cat 3 comes up the bay in September bringing a tornado swarm and big river flooding to make up for this historically boring pattern we've been stuck in since sleet fest in January.

Muddy Creek Falls I'll be joining your ranks tomorrow for a day trip to the Dolly Sods wilderness! I've hiked a bit of Red River in the winter but had to turn back due to the stream crossing. Now I plan to explore the upper marsh/meadow area.
