hooralph
Suddenly getting brighter here on the UWS. With the smoke, for all I know it could be clear?
WestBabylonWeather
Rain was so intense that the weepholes couldn’t keep up on our new window. I had to put a towel to catch overflow. The tray filled up. Thankfully i was home

MANDA
Snapshot of rainfall totals so far. Quite certain there are much higher totals in between these reporting sites. These drenching downpours are highly localized. I am also of the belief that anything truly severe is going to be south of a TTN to Sandy Hook line. I'm actually fairly confident on that and it could be a nasty go for some late this afternoon into the evening along and south of I195. 3

I have to believe there are some going to be 3-5" totals in the area south of 78 and along and north of I195 from this "first round".

straphanger
First post here but reporting 1.5" of rain fell between 1145 and 1245 in NE Queens. It was absolutely torrential for that hour here. The videos of the flooding from the LIE southward are absolutely insane with the crazy rainfall rates they got.

Psychguy
Looking at the radar, you can kind of infer where the warm front has set up. Just to the north of where I’m located in Philadelphia there have been multiple rounds of thunderstorms in Bucks County. And then, of course, those have been sliding Northeast towards North Jersey and the New York City Metro area it seems (please be careful in those areas where flooding is occurring… I just saw portions of the BQE have shut down due to flooding). Meanwhile, the sun has poked out here and it’s currently 91° at PHL with a dewpoint of 77.

JonClaw
I got very unlucky with the weather on a family visit to Liberty Island. However, it was worth it for the incredible thunderstorms and these two shots. 11 1
