Another neighbor's daffodils may bloom soon.

My shaded trees' buds still haven't burst, though.

Just chased inside by a gusty shower in last 10 minutes. Been outside all day working on the yard and getting garden area prepped for the upcoming season. High was 79.5 about 1/2 hour ago, down to 69.6/56.4 with the rain falling now.

50s this weekend seems chilly lol, but it'll still be nicer than that prolonged stretch of sub-freezing (well, to me at least).

Yep, several opened up here today, crazy. This weekend is the Highland County Maple Festival, hoping those 40's and 50's in the forecast there happen. Something seriously wrong with going to a Maple Festival in shorts lol.

Two weeks ago Providence got 39" of snow, they hit 69 yesterday and today there's only 3" left on the ground. The quick flip in the east outside interior NNE isn't uncommon.

Winter is probably wrapped up by now in the lowlands, but it’s crazy to think that other years can bring a 1993 superstorm or March 1958 level HECS at this exact same time of the year.

As for me my emotional investment in winter weather starts going down by mid March especially as we get spring weather, but I’ll still take a good snowstorm if it’s on the table.

Garden variety thunderstorm this morning dropping a quick 0.31". Will be interesting to see how this impacts the thunderstorm threat later today.

Brief but intense showers continue. Up to 0.56" of rain so far today. Air is definitely juicy so if any peeks of sun appear later, it won't take much to recharge the atmosphere.

Either the 2nd or 3rd time already this year where I zoom up to almost a record high then clouds/showers suppress it at the last moment, lol. High was 79.5, record 80 from 1990.

I happened to check the high temps for March and this is a bit like the mighty 1979; which Feb was insanely cold (departure -11.1) and snowy (the Washington Birthday storm...PD1), then very warm. Here's the high temp leaders:

Of course, we still have half of March left to beat that 85, I suppose.

Wow. I didn’t realize at first what you were showing was top all time for the month. There must not be much spread because the daily record high of 79 is relatively low compared to other days.

Looks like another bunch of shattered high temperatures today.

So far, DCA hit 84, IAD and BWI 82.

Records at all three airports for the date had been 79.
