Unless things improve greatly this afternoon BOX, every local TV met and anyone else who called for 18-24+ is in line for a MAJOR BUSTORAMA!!

...

stuff happens with banding.  I think BOX stuck to higher amounts even as models shrunk qpf.  That was good meteorology.

yep, you got wind so lots of drifting + old snow on the ground which a lot of public will be measuring through, i guarantee it. Prob where that 40" report came from + driftage.

Well one of the good things more often than not when coastal areas get buried is their often isn't much if any old snow cover. I feel as though inland especially when there's like three to five old otg and then they get a biggie folks often just stick the yardstick to the bottom and report that and figure no one will notice.

How is it good meteorology to not adjust?

Yeah that's questionable. So one or 2 towns get in a band that to gives 18", but everyone else is 8"?  Next time, most people won't believe it.  That's not good because in meteorology being believable is paramount, I would think.

Seems to be congealing into a moderate to borderline heavy snow over E MA as the uber intense stuff is sinking a touch SE…but the subsidence zones are disappearing NW of 495

that western band while not what the fire hose has produced, has certainly made this area eventful, feel sorry for some of the CTRV folk who wound up with less than 10", my buddy in E.longmeadow said 7/8", I think that's low, because wilbraham had 12 like 3 hours ago but who knows, i averaged just over 15, still lightly snowing and about to get after it.
