Fozz
8 minutes ago, Fozz said: I told my parents last night it might snow earlier than the forecasts are saying and they might not see much rain, and then they sent me a video a few minutes ago showing me the snow getting started. I also told them to expect 6-10” even while they were thinking 2-6” - and now LWX has them at 5-10” with more to the east. Now I know it’s still mixing and going back and forth in many spots, but I imagine those at higher elevations will be at an advantage before the evening. Also temps in the area seem to be 33-34 with banding setting up. If the column can cool and if there’s nothing to bring in more warmth then things will be looking very good. I can see today potentially resembling an elevation storm from early December 2009 that I remember.
baltosquid
Seeing the lighter returns just to Baltimore’s immediate south doesn’t inspire confidence; some wunder stations are starting to drop now but a break might undo that Not hard to see how we bust really low here. Hoping for a death band somewhere in there…

Jebman
NWS. This is a very polite respectful request. I know all I am, is an overexcited snow weenie. No chops. Just way too much emotion. It's wrecked my life. But all I ask, is for a Winter Storm Warning for southeastern Prince William County, and maybe all the other counties around it. Please. This is an extraordinary storm. You know it. I know it. Let's just do it. They ARE going to get 5 inches of snow with this.
dailylurker
I made it up to Gambrills Park. It's full on winter up here. My truck is reading 34 at about 1200'. There's about 2" otg and snowing lightly. The roads are also covered up here. I'm headed up even higher. I'll report back.

WVsnowlover
Disappointing to see the IVT pulling east on most guidance now. We were really relying on that feature out here in the Winchester area. Starting to get the feeling we'll be lucky to see a couple inches of slush on the grass at this point.

clskinsfan
Coming down pretty good out here now. Took a nice Jebwalk in it. But unfortunately it is just too warm to stick at this point.

clskinsfan
The Norlum position is not set yet. I think 3-6 is probably a decent call for our area. 4 minutes ago, WVsnowlover said: Disappointing to see the IVT pulling east on most guidance now. Terpeast
Preface by noting two different forecast time stamps. We should know where the norlun is setting up by 22z-00z (5-7 pm est) based on radar sigs from the CAMs: My guess is we will know by 5-6 pm
