That would require cold skies. The air aloft is much warmer. The only reason we're frozen still is because of the CAD (cold air damming).

The poor fools who shoveled earlier aren't happy...their steps are covered again. Weird...the stuff accumulates on top of cars but falls off the sides. Deep tire tracks on street. No plows.

I told everyone I know to stop shoveling at 8am. If you scrape the snow/sleet off, you’re just gonna make an ice sheet later. Better to have the snow be the pavement interface than Sleet / Freezing Rain concrete.

Just cleaned up the entire driveway top to bottom between the 3 of us with shovels and I’m exhausted. But, fantastic workout!! 
 

Been constant sleet with some snow mixed in at times during the heavier precip. 
 

Easily 7.5+ inches out there and still accumulating.

THIS. If we get end up w a winter creme brulee, that's way better than having a sheet of ice on pavement

5.5" of snow and 2.5" of whatever this sleet/graupel/snow mixture is = 8". It's coming down heavy and it's not pleasant to be in.

I remember back in the day sometimes the Weather Channel would use "Unknown Precip" to designate a mix. Applies.

Yeah now that I’m thinking about it; If we get FZRA it will be exactly like concrete with the sleet as the aggregates and the ZR as the binder to fill in all the pores.

Just got back home from sledding with my friends. Absolute sleet bomb out here.

5.9" of snow, 2.5" of sleet. ~0.5" of sleet an hour. Total 8.4"

I am glad I got all the snow up before the sleet weighed it down.  I am ok with a second pass

Nah.. its too cold.   As long you go out after a couple inches easily pushed out of way
