So the hose did a pretty good job today of at least opening up a few of the ice dams but man that temp needs to come up at least another 10 degrees or so to put a serious dent into the ice pack. We’re getting there though..might’ve got just a hint of color today with that ever so slowly rising sun angle!

Yeah we’ll see…looks pretty cold even if it moderates a bit. Too bad we have a bush league high Saturday morning because models are bringing afternoon temps down near 0°.

I also think the delivery on Saturday is a little more west than we want it for best realization at the sfc. Still damned cold stuff, but I like to see it drilling more from the NNW and this is NW to WNW even.

Need a Montreal Express hit.

I've never seen the CT River this frozen over at this particular location. Let's load up and then get a massive spring flood.

In all seriousness though, there are parts of the river upstream near the Bulkeley Bridge that I'd bet are crossable on foot (obviously will not attempt). Pretty wild.

There is epic ice. I’ll take some pictures up in the Turners Falls area tomorrow. Another week of deep cold with us too.
Yes, a high QPF,  warm rainer, would be disastrous.

The winter of 93-94 froze the river like that. Used to cross the Memorial Bridge every day. Stayed frozen for quite a while. Some of the saltwater inlets up here a frozen.
