CoCoRaHS for July 3 to today shows widespread 7-9 plus inch amounts in southern MoCo and 4-6 inches around Gaithersburg, compared to 0.8 here.  What an incredible micro-climate desert this place is, and it's not just this year.  This is normal.  What a tough place to try to have a gardening hobby.

The last couple storms were definitely focused on eastern HoCo. Quick glance at some PWSs around the area suggests I was the jackzone.

CoCoRaHS confirms we were the jackpot. 1.85” at closest report.

Similar boat here and, frankly, maybe more of a micro because I’m right up against Gambrill State Park/Watershed. Grass is not just a tint of brown, but legitimately getting brown.

It's usually the same "have nots" year after year.  Geographic influences are real, and a bitch.

I plan to head on down to the point lookout beach (right on the cheasapeak) today or tomorrow to get sunset and Milky Way pictures. Any Mets have thoughts on which day would offer a good sunset and clear sky at night?

If you haven’t decided yet, today looks okay for a clear night sky, at least according to the HRDPS which is apparently a decent model for cloud cover which I’ve heard in space weather groups. Satellite also seems good at the moment. Good luck stargazing.

This QPF forecast doesnt seem to align at all with current model guidance. Overly generous. I guess we shall see.

Last 4-5 runs of the euro are a north trend for Thursday that would have us in agony in winter lol

That's not the map I originally posted. Its the updated one. I did a copy/paste, so I guess it links. They have definitely been making some adjustments.

I seriously had to look several times because I know that we were in deep purple, but it's intriguing that the map seemed to have updated it even after you copy and pasted it.

They definitely lowered rainfall totals in the range of 1 to 3 days. I could still use an inch though.

Glad we got a couple sunny days at the lake but today we are back to the continuous pop up heavy showers. Just yesterday, today's forecast was sunny. Feel like its south florida not the mountains.

Wasn't it just last summer it never rained at all?  Sheesh.  Looking forward to seeing this pattern end.

It was, complete 180 this summer. Kinda glad it never rained last summer since we were building an addition haha. I woulda been super pissed if I was building this summer. Constant wash outs and mud I bet.

Our dock access right of way keeps getting washed out. I've been here 5 years and other neighbors 20+ and they said they've never had these types of issues with the access road.

Closing in on 1" here.  Of course, I took the cover off the boat yesterday to work on it.  I keep thinking the boat is impervious to water, but apparently, not so - at least not the inside.:axe:
