The heavy band well ahead of the storm did not happen. Not sure why no one can acknowledge this, those who tossed the heavy rain from round one (today) from the city NE were correct. NAM radar from round one reality is widely scattered showers, there is no convection whatsoever Sometimes you just have to learn to take the L man.

Hard to believe that the last major hurricane landfall in the Carolinas was way back in 1996. All tropical storms or lower end hurricanes. But flooding has been their biggest issue with multiple record breaking events such as Florence. https://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/hurdat/All_U.S._Hurricanes.html

LongBeachSurfFreak
Just had to pull two life guard stands out of the ocean that floated almost a mile after falling in so to erosion. Beaches have really taken a hit this month. With a nino winter on the way it will only get worse.

Getting into a good break now ... looks as if it's mostly over for today (just drizzle and a couple more showers). The rain never got very heavy here, but a lot of light to moderate rain. Lasted a long time so it added up to a decent amount. Probably a much more significant amount of rain tomorrow. As you said, good timing on a football weekend. We'll be enjoying a football Sunday tomorrow, so won't care much about the weather.

Volcanic Winter
Bit of a break finally, but quite gusty at the moment. Strongest winds coming through now.
