Relatively nuanced map from GYX for a type of system that has been reported to be uniform.  Not criticizing, just noting.

Hopefully can grab a few inches from round one.  33/28 and looks like the bright banding is washing out coming East of the Berkshires so maybe we pound snow for a while.  The cutoff is pretty extreme, friend in Deerfield says it's still a lot of sleet mixing in there and he's only 10mi South of me.

Safe to say that part 1 is going to bust here. Back to ZR/PL after a brief burst of heavy snow. We had a quick 0.5" with the snow.

The meso models underestimated the extent of the warm layer aloft prior to the onset of precipitation so we wasted 2 hours as ZR/PL instead of snow, and also underestimated the WAA aloft (as they often do with SWFEs). Both factors severely minimized the time it spent snowing.

Wishful thinking.

Yup, just like that, as soon as the precip lightens up at all it flips back to sleet.  You can already see the back edge of round one racing East.

Just took another look and it's sleet and and a few mangled flakes. 36.1/30.1. Going to need some better lift/intensity.

I think the best chance up in NE MA prior to the IVT is later tonight...that second round of really intense lift seems to collapse the snow line back south into NE MA after about 03z (10pm).

We're in the 8-12 color, too, but P&C adds up to 5-9 and Farmington 90/50/10 percents are 5/8/11.  Lots better than yesterday's estimates.
