I wonder if Stein contributed to this? There’s basically no sfc moisture in S NH right now. That sfc can just keep losing heat without dew quickly forming.

Stein has a hand in everything this year

Looks like the 12z official is 26F for MVL... that isn’t even close to what models had yesterday for this morning there.  Most had us hanging around freezing.

NWS went with frost advisories that looked good based on yesterday’s models, but then woke up to all the reporting stations below freezing except BTV.  Even 34F at that warm airport spot is impressive.

Wonder how much the dry surface plays into it.  No fog to stop the free-fall.  The dews just kept dropping too...even this morning there was still decent T/Td spread.

Normally you get like 32/30 you think it’s about maxed out, but then it just keeps going to 27/24.  I never see MVL dew drop 6 degrees after midnight on a rad night.

Nature signals pointing to an early frost this year. Gardens matured early, dry soils, multiple cold fronts with low dewpoints

New record low for CON with 28° or 29°. The previous was 30° in multiple previous years.

Kept a bit of wind all night so only hit 35.9°...hard frost on the truck though.

First record low at CON in September since 1993....first non-tied record low in September since 1985.

Only 3 temps have been colder than this at this point in the season.

27F on 9/15 twice (1975 & 1895) and a 27F on 9/16 (1964)

BOS record low tomorrow morning is 42F. Don’t think we can quite get there. MAV is 45 and MET is 43....but winds light out of the north or just W of due north is a good direction for Logan to try and beat MOS guidance. That’s how they got that random record low in September 2013.  I think I recall them beating MOS by 3 or 4 degrees that morning.

If they start turning more like 010 or 020 by dawn then they won’t make it.

No chance for ORH record low tomorrow. That old site just radiated too well. Really hard to beat that site on low temps. 29F record low in 1941...lol.

I went into the raw 1-min obs for BDL on that 99F day in July and they actually hit 100F in there. But with the 5-min running mean it only averaged out to 99F. Does anyone have the time the official 99F temp occurred? I assume it was 1919Z or 3:19pm EDT. The raw 100F was 1917Z.

What’s MOS for CON tonight?

I have to imagine the record of 28F is very likely to go down considering how the atmosphere behaved this morning and tonight is even more favorable.

31°. Mon AM is 30°. Could pull a trifecta.

That’s weird that it thinks Monday is colder. The high is still overhead Monday morning but it’s losing some of the arctic punch compared to Sunday morning.

I guess MOS is still slightly worried about a bit of wind tonight with the high still west of us.

Fall Brush fire threat a real concern especially with breezy conditions today and no rain until at least Friday. 100 acre fire earlier this week across from IJD

It’s like living in the High desert out west around here these days. Similar to Utah or something.

I have not seen a tick in the past month.
Dry ftw?
