Surprised to find about 1.75" in the gauge this morning.  That would be the total since Thursday. Rain was so light most of the time, I didn't think we'd gotten that much.  Very impressive duration event, though rates were wimpy.  That's fine though, a very good soaking rain.  It's been raining continuously for over 40 hours.  Reminds me of the Jan. '96 storm in duration.

I get that the soil is saturated down in NC, but a wind advisory for 10-20 mph sustained winds and 30-35 mph gusts?

Being down in SC right now, I've been watching the Charleston radar intently for the last 36 hours. The moisture fetch off the Atlantic is just absurd. After a lull of maybe a couple hours yesterday, rains started streaming in agin last night and it continues this morning. Some areas just to the north of Charleston might end up with 25" of rain when all is said and done (if they don't have that already!).

Truly unreal...

That is nuts. Looks like at least 18" has fallen over the past 2 days just north of Charleston. And a large area of 12"+ in eastern and central SC.

Yeah, a truly historic event.  Something awesome to watch from afar.
