Damage In Tolland
1 minute ago, vortex95 said: It seems over time, the size of warnings has grown, or they are issued earlier. Special marine warnings for Chesapeake Bay this evening, and the line of storms was 1 hr out. No OFB ahead yet either. People are only willing to take so much time out of their day. More is not always better. Say one day we can give a spinner warnings 1 hr ahead. So does that mean people need to go to their basement immediately? That is absurd. And say some do that, and nothing happens (which will for the majority), many will not be happy b/c it is a waste of time. For large venue locations w/ lots of people, yes longer lead times are better, but that the minority of the time. They almost had the whole state of CT under a warning and little to no damage
Snowedin
1 hour ago, WinterWolf said: I think we’ve exhausted the Xmas Eve idea to death now…. What people fail to acknowledge, is that one of those 70 plus Xmas eve’s(2014), came a month before a historic snow blitz. Ya…that was one of the years. I think I we’d all take a 73 degree Xmas eve, if we could get that again a month later. It’s worth it just to witness the average snow weenie meltdown and the subsequent kicking the can down the road routine that’s become all too predictable around these parts. Plus who doesn’t like a warm, toasty Christmas morning with a bunch of loony relatives?

I really think they should have short-fused high wind warnings in these cases. Think about it, when ppl hear "svr tstm" they expect LTG/T and it to be rockin'. Just promotes distrust and apathy.

And then write a letter to Dick Albert!

Pretty much what rolled through last night here. Severe weather is not a thunder shower. And any on camera MET who used/uses thunder shower for legit severe weather, should be ashamed of themselves. wxeyeNH
39F Cloudy with a few breaks. The mountain tops in the Cardigan range are obscured from time to time in light snow showers. Nothing here. Why is the wind almost non existent? A gentle NW breeze 5 to 10mph but I won't consider it a windy morning. Is there a follow-up push or trough expected today?
