Around this time in 2024 we had a tropical remnant system headed our way and a massive precip forecast. Instead the bulk of the rain refused to go north of Richmond.

Lightning and thunder last night 9:30 - 10 but zero rain.

Out at the cabin this weekend, last night had a thunderstorm with lots of lightning and thunder coming in but as soon as it reached the edge of my property it just fizzled out and ended up with nothing.

Storms ruined my picnic plans last night, but once they moved out to the southeast they put on one of the most incredible lightning shows I've seen. One of those times were even other, presumably "normal" people stop to look up at the sky. Bolt after bolt ran along the clouds for hours. Had the privilege of walking down to watch it once with a friend and then later on with my camera. Won't be a night to forget.

It was clear enough for about 15 minutes around 11:30 last night.  It was pretty cool to see... nothing like the solar in 2024

Super cool! Way to take advantage of UVA’s status as supercell alley these days. I’ve been feinding for good lightning this summer and have been annoyed - clearly I need to visit Cville.

Nice pop-up shower with 0.2 just now to make up a little for a shutout yesterday.  Sun is back out and it is STEAMY

Impressive outflow boundary moved through from the storms to the east. Temp down to 78. Ofc it didn't trigger any storms here lol.
