Just missed a record high at 66.7 degrees, record is 67.5 from 2011.

Seems like temps may bust high today for those further south of the M/D line? Cold air push associated w the front is still working its way through central pa. BWI is already up to 48 and DCA is at 51, while KUNV is at 30. Enjoy time outside before it arrives.

I cannot find the mid Atlantic snow totals thread for '23-'24.  Am I blind or just bad at searching?

Point and click for today was a high of 43 and I'm already at 47.

Mine was 48F and I'm already 52F.   The temp always busts high here.

Didn’t check dca, but iad was about -3 for the 3 months (relative to 1991-2020 climo I believe)

February 2026 at DCA made it three consecutive months of not just below 1991-2020 normal -- but also below historical 1871-2026 average -- temperatures in DC.  

For the month, DCA averaged 36.2 degrees, 3.8 below the 1991-2020 normal of 40.0 degrees and 1.1 below the 1871-2026 DC average of 37.3 degrees.

If you look at satellite, you’ll see the most perfect example of the Catoctin cloud factory. Hardly any other clouds around except along/over the Catoctin’s. Still a fair amount of sun today (cloud factory is waning), though kind of a sneaky chilly compared to yesterday. Not looking forward to tomorrow’s temps, if I’m being brutally honest.

Ugh.. yup. My hiking season is coming to an end until the fall. I'll do some local hiking but nothing big. The crowds are back. I enjoyed the glacier. I was the only one out for weeks.

Hit a high of 54 and got in another bike ride before the cold returns. Its a nice afternoon to sit in the sun w drunk in hand.

Def got my hoops and biking fix yesterday.  My legs were on E today lol.  I do however have a Pilsner that I'm about to partake in.

Are the trails that crowded around your area?  It gets busier here, but nothing too crazy imo with the exception of the more touristy spots like Billy Goat, MD Heights, etc.

Just wait until July. In April/May People notice it's warm out for the first time in awhile and think "lets go outside", then a good 50% of them get bored and go back to watching tv after about a few weeks. I see it every year.

i saw some national maps - and that seems about right for most of the Mid Atlantic.

I think you just need to expand your hiking weather. Next to no one is out on our April to June perfect track gulf soakers which provides a really cool vibe. Additionally, some trails have next to no one on them at anytime for some reason. Personally, I plan to fully use this time period before bugs and yellow jackets infest the trails.

That's the only time I hike during summer lol. Those are usually my days off. Last year I had a wild hiking experience when flash flooding thunderstorms caught me. It was the best hike of the season. It was a little scary when lightning struck a tree probably less then 500 feet from me. I like a drizzly, foggy day too. I don't stop hiking. It's my working season so that's my main focus. I get out when I can. 

I don't care for hiking among people. I don't mind passing fokes here and there but I enjoy the woods the most when I'm alone.
