newark at almost 54...rivals 94 actually....that's a blockbuster winter in these parts.. and maybe we ain't done yet; these kinds of years almost always throw out a march sleet or paste event, sometimes an april one too.

The big story in 1994 was the heaviest snows setting up in Central and Eastern PA due to the super gradient that winter. A number of spots set their all-time snowiest season. Several 100”+ amounts in the Poconos and Central PA .Those were the days of the big Miller As east of the APPS that we haven’t had in a while. It was the all-time snowiest in State College.

PA LONG POND POCONO LAKE COOP 115.8
PA MONTROSE COOP 136.5
PA HOLLISTERVILLE COOP 132.1

PA SUSQUEHANNA COOP 113.9

Temp has skyrocketed near the coast from the teens to above freezing.  Any reports of rain?  That will be disasterous for the commute.  Road surfaces must be cold.

Temperature here went from a low of 15 to 35 by the time the snow started. Now that it is snowing at a good clip the temperature has dropped to 32

Uh, the GFS has a decent snowstorm in 2 days...

Not enough amplification for that one. Early March is a good window though as long as the arctic dome doesn't overpower the shortwave.

Looks like a SWFE type of system on a smaller scale that we had in Jan per the GFS, other models aren't as enthused though.
