Went outside to shovel at 20F, by the time I was done it hit 25F..

And my damn garage door spring snapped clean in half on the way back in..

Yeah, definitely don’t. I’m getting observation texts from my friends I grew up with… getting absolutely smoked in the Hudson valley. Easily hitting 16-18 up there

Just got back from a jebwalk, easily the heaviest sleet I've ever experienced.  Pounding.  Huge pellets too.  Roads are a complete disaster here, passed many stuck cars.

Nice! Chili warming on the stove now here too! Except Allison whipping that up. I spent the day cleaning cars and shoveling sugar, so the chili is her jam. The good news is that red wine was required in this recipe. So that’s where we are at for this point of the day.

That sucks. You might have trouble getting someone out to fix that spring this week.

So I cleared my drive this morning, now it has a couple inches of sleet. I think I'll let it be until tomorrow morning. I feel like if I do another clearing before dark I'm gonna get some bad glazing overnight.

I have never seen NO snow on the sides of cars not even on door handles, yet snow is tucked up under the rear spoilers on SUVs. Shoveling the sleet off of my sidewalk, I see imprints of the concrete - it looks like a plaster mold. But 5 times as heavy. Its tough sledding as a shoveler today. The piles of sleet coming off my roof are pushing 3' and leaving ridges formed on my roof. And a bird just flew into my window. Fire is roaring game is on so its time to start drinking.
