Never had this many days of significant radiational cooling in a row since I’ve moved here in 2015.

The conditions have also been so suitable to radiate that we hit the dewpoint before midnight and continue slowly dropping to sunrise. Overnight radiational fog has been a regularity right at the surface.

It’s a common desert phenomenon that sustains vegetation; it’s doing wonders for my young grass and grass seed. The vegetation around here generally doesn’t reflect the severe lack of rain thanks to this; it looks more mild to moderate…

It’s not doing a whole lot…yeah there’s a little surface condensation, but it barely gets into the ground. On dense fog nights where we saturate early, at best I get a 0.01” tip of the black rain gauge. Maybe it helps your seed on the surface germinate, but that’s about it. You had some decent rains recently too so you’re in a different boat than me.

The 6” soil moisture here is back to the 90-100cb range after “moistening” up to 70-80cb a week ago. I’ll probably start hitting unchartered territory in the next week or two.

Here's hoping the tables on the dry weather get turned in time for winter.

There’s a large section east of the MS that is under drought conditions. There’s a large scale pattern that has to change…it hasn’t just been bad luck. But yeah, it’s only September.

Due to some family and professional changes, SLK is going to be WXW 2 for me for the foreseeable future. It’s different up there I’ll tell you that…

So jealous dude. Not only a beautiful part of the world, but they do winter right. My extended family down the road in Tupper just get nailed from early November into mid April.

Just had my lawn seeded, it's covered in straw, need to get it all wet but noticed what you just said, best time to grow a lawn.

Wait for real?

Yeah. Not sure how much time I’ll be spending up there long term, but so far it’s been a few days a month.

Incredibly beautiful up there. It’s a whole different world with the small town vibe and much colder climo. I definitely don’t want snow late April though lol.

I've been thinking about moving north.. it wouldn't be for atleast a few years though. I was thinking the Jackman Maine area or far northern NH..

Where the eff did that face come from? Or is that some sort of AI.

I saved a bunch of face pics when I did the emoji. I think I watched a vid or two and screen captured a few faces for future use.
