Grade A heat wave with vitamin loaded humidity levels appears to be on its last leg. I still got my outdoor activities in, but definitely in smaller doses. Today felt spicy in the sun…no storms around here, though I have seen some “heat lightning”.

Yeah.. I was under my 5th severe warning of the year.. nothing close to severe so far. 2x it barely even rained. 

I think Baltimore does a little better with storms than I do, a few degrees in temp apparently makes a difference. This year it's ended up being more rain up here than lightning..

Yep lightning was extremely bright and vivid around here last night.  Very loud thunder as well.

Got 0.9 in 20 minutes last evening from a quick, small pulser that formed right over my area then faded.  2 miles to my north got nothing.

Picked up a few hundredths last night with yet another debacle of being betwixt and between. Looked at the Ridgely Mesonet and three quarters of an inch fell there in 20 mins starting at 10 pm.

Total for the day here 0.27"

WB 3K NAM aced the temps for today.  Hopefully they can incorporate its temp forecast parameters into the other models before they retire it in 2026.

I think my PWS is broken. It is showing it is 66 out. Really though while we missed out on the rain over here I am glad for this one day of gloom and lower temps before the oven cranks back on tomorrow. I have a feeling though looking into next week that I will be out watering the gardens.

The lowlands of AA County have been swamped this week. I had a classic, strobe light, nighttime thunderstorm last evening that dropped 1.90". I've had over 3" this week. No drought here. We're in the green now.

I'm in plant watering mode now. Grass I don't care about. It craps out regardless.

Yesterday's total 1.59" for me. DP was up to 82 before the T-storm hit late evening. Sauna like.  Was outside grilling burgers thinking this is the typical AACo summer we all know and love/hate.

Crazy gray and cool - for anytime in June - much less juxtaposed with the heat we had Sunday - Thursday. I've lived here 16 years now in the DMV and still have not gotten used to the whiplash from backdoor fronts.
