Worked outside from 1130 until about 1900 on a retaining wall project.  Using a hand held concrete saw with DPs in the low 70's made it pretty ugly.  Could have been an episode on "Dirtiest Jobs".  Got to a good stopping point in advance of the next few days.  Currently 85/74 here.

I was crawling around staining a deck in Ellicott City. It was brutal at times. It was 92 from Ellicott City to Crofton at about 1500.

Before this starts, on the Global side, the ICON is the coolest and shuts the big heat down earliest, while the Euro is still insisting on topping 100.  GFS in the middle with upper 90s but pushes any relief well down the line.

The mesos have a similar spread, with the NAM Nest on the low side with mid-90s and the Canadians into the 100s.  HRRR has upper 90s to near 100 Monday.

After an 86.0 degree high it is 63.9/63.0 here this morning with the usual haze and fog that'll burn off around 9-10 am. I got all 3 vehicles cleaned up, probably first time since late fall that all three look decent inside and out.

There does seem to be a trend now to stretch this into Thursday.

Pretty cool cloud animation from the MSC up North presently, the fanning out of the high clouds in the southern portion of the complex reminds me of the exhaust cirrus from an deeply intensifying hurricane.

The Sunday concerts are quite cool.  A lot of dancing and such.   Might not literally as cool today but Antietam Dairy/Ice Cream will be there to try and cool off everyone!

Thanks for the heads-up, Don. I've been tracking the heat - and it's no joke! Lots of monthly high record minimum temperatures, and even several all-time records, at locations with 100-150 year PORs. Hayward in rural northern Wisconsin only dropped to 80F, breaking the monthly record by 5F and setting a new all-time record! That would only be 1F shy of the all-time June record in Manhattan! Green Bay, at 79F, set a new all-time record and tied the monthly record high.  Saginaw, Michigan beat its all-time record (for any month) by 2F! Crazy stuff.

I can't wait for record heat. RIP veggie garden again this year. We'll get enough heat to kill everything. Then the pattern will shift back to normal. Our climo sucks for just about everything except heat, wind, and clouds.
