MANDA
The area roughly along and left of a Trenton to NYC line is done with heavy rain today IMO. Anything additional will be showery and on the light side. Southern half of NJ and L.I. (especially central and east) still in line for some locally heavy totals.

LongBeachSurfFreak
Eastern Long Island is going to get smoked. 5”+ type amounts. The city may get rocked later if the stuff down by the Delmarva stays in-tacked

Cfa
This batch is barely missing me to the east. It’s kind of a good thing as they largely missed out on the earlier batch.
LongBeachSurfFreak
I’ll take the .74 at wantagh, while nothing for every other station in our region it’s the largest total during the warm season this year. Dead trees everywhere on the wantagh parkway from the successive years of warm season droughts

Rmine1
Does the current stuff over the Dmrva make it far enough north to impact the island? Or does it slide under? At a minimum the east end is in for a long night.

Roger Smith
Today's record rainfall at NYC is only 1.50" (1871). 1926 had 1.38". Tomorrow's record is 3.13" from 1995 two days after a two-day hot spell (96 14th, 102 15th). To show how variable regional rainfall can be, I noticed that LGA had 3.53" on July 15th 1997 for a daily record but NYC had only 0.17" on that date (max 97, min 77 also). But NYC did record a daily record 3.75" on July 23, 1997.
