magpiemaniac
Just got back home. Nothing here. It is snowing lightly now but not near hard enough to overcome the thoroughly wet ground. On the positive side, all the brine they put on the road the past three days has washed down the sewers. Not sure what to expect tonight as I haven't been keeping up. Nothing in Archdale? That's astonishing. I'm probably 13 miles NNE of you and have over 1" of snow on the ground and moderate flakes falling.

phil882
I think NW flow is going to be epic for you if you believe Morristown. Hate to bug you again, but have the roads improved at all since the temperature rose above freezing for a time and the precipitation rates have decreased. I still have to travel up to Asheville, NC tomorrow because I am on call for an Intense Observational Period to launch weather balloons for Northwest Flow. I'll be heading to Warren Wilson College. The first launch starts at 1pm so I'm thinking about leaving at 8am or so to make sure I give myself enough time to get up there. My bet is that the hardest part will be climbing up I-26 in Polk County.

I'm hating it right now because I'm watching the news where 15 minutes from here everything is white. 1-3 inches and the roads are completely covered. If I don't have any action here by 7pm, I'm taking a drive!!

jshetley
90% rain 10% snow here with no sign of any more snow mixing in. Guess I'm just too far to the SE. And the phase is going to happen to far east I'm afraid. Hope the next system features 70 and severe thunderstorms. Tired of stupid misses on snow here. I'm hating it right now because I'm watching the news where 15 minutes from here everything is white. 1-3 inches and the roads are completely covered. If I don't have any action here by 7pm, I'm taking a drive!! I'm having a redux of last December. had a 1/2 inch or so of slush, while just around the corner 4+inches. I've had drizzle for one maybe 20 minute spell around 4;00ish today. So if some heavy moisture could get in here who knows. Ground is barely white about 11 miles from house. Need some precip. brettjrob
Moderate SN ongoing for the past half hour from the (developing) ULL. SnoJoe
I think NW flow is going to be epic for you if you believe Morristown. Yes, I can"t wait. Snippet from Morristown: ...AND ASSOCIATED COLD AIR ALOFT INCREASING LAPSE RATES WILL PRODUCE A GOOD DEAL OF SNOW FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS (ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS COULD BE 1 TO 1 1/2 FEET).
