In the end, yeah.  I have lots of thoughts and I'll type out some long post in a few weeks.

Definitely learned my lessons that:

1.) Your location matters for climo (the further north or west you are the better)

2.) Always protect your lower end

3.) The mix line will always win

Interestingly, here in Reisterstown, there has been a toggle between snow and sleet.  Just now, it is light to moderate snow

with visibility down to about 1 1/2 to 2 miles.  I've been stocking the my outdoor bird feeders all winter and let me just say...

the birds have had a gigantic appetite this winter.

Back to moderate sleet...waiting for the sleet death bands

Snow mixing in downtown, friend. At least it is, 20 floors up. Assuming some of that is making it to the ground. Fingers crossed for you.

Biggest all sleet event for me since March 2007.

That event was insane. I was in Philly for that and got 4" of solid sleet after the day before was like 50 degrees. Took forever to melt off.

Moderate to heavy sleet has returned here.  Haven't seen any pure snow yet

I mean, those are always rules to live by in the MA.  But the last minute drying trend, the major mixing for every storm, marginal cold air, etc., etc., etc.  Could have a LOT more snow this winter with minimal changes.

These wee little ice balls are falling, and they sting!! I guess that's sleet?? I thought I had blown a pipe in the house because it sounded like a water leak when it hit the windows.

Yup. If things were like 1 degree colder and just 10 to 20% wetter, we'd of won bigly every time. But compared last year and the year before that, this has been an okay winter.

I moved here in 2017 and this is like it was in that 3" sleet storm for my back yard in Gaithersburg in 2017. Looking at radar, I think we all have a good shot at 2-3" of sleet for this storm too.

I think it's pretty clear that, somehow, the NAM is the new king.

In its wheelhouse it is, but a couple days ago it had the primary cutting west of us and was all rain.
