Grayman Posted January 9 Well here I go. Screw the weather and screw great patterns And screw you that saw flakes. Try living in Rockingham NC. I chased 20 minutes north to see. Flake. That’s my life. Nobody tell me a great patterns coining because you don’t know anything. Can’t enough predict a storm 12 hours out. Screw the models too . Btw winter is OVer 1 1 3
oconeexman Posted January 9 Thank God ill be in Oswego NY in March to work again. Guarantee snow...they got 6ft tall rods on mailboxes and fire hydrants so they don't hit them. Loterally can throw a rocker into lake Ontario from the plant.

NorthHillsWx Posted January 9 I swore I wouldn’t get invested in this one. I knew I had no chance. But, got thrown in the advisory. Expected something, even a car topper after that. Nope. Can’t even buy a dusting here in peak winter

Leesville Wx Hawk Posted January 9 Let’s move on to the 20th or so now. We seem to always luck out about 5 miles north east of RDU airport, but not tonight. This was never a good situation and we got sucked in without good temperatures. Never a good recipe unless you have a perfect situation.
Leesville Wx Hawk Posted January 9 Wow! I laughed that y’all (Boone) had some rain! That’s nuts considering that we are talking about winter conditions east.

It snowed 10 miles north, 10 mile west of about 5 miles east of me. Me? Not a flake mixed with rain . Can’t wait to track the next one lol ( that’s what weenies do)

BooneWX Posted January 9 I think I care less about the accumulation yesterday and more about the fact that after two years of having systems overproduce moisture 2-3x normal and shattering precip records by double the yearly norms, we finally had a system underachieve in precip...and alas...what great timing for it!

Yep when it's suppose to rain it pours and when it's suppose to snow it fizzles. 1

kvegas-wx Posted January 10 I was happy to see my dusting and got some cool drone footage flying in the snow. But I invested waaayyy to much sleepy time in Katherine. Lesson learned when we dont have a reliable cold source. We easily had the QPF for a 3-5" storm in the Triad. But relying on the boundary layer to win the day for us was just delirium. Wont fall for that again. 1
