Caught the tail of a nice thunderstorm cell earlier today that dropped 0.34” in about 5 minutes.  Some nice CG strikes and 25-30 mph winds.

I do hope western MD gets remnants from the tropical systems given the drier conditions there of late.  Drought monitor has western Garrett County in the Abnormally Dry category with Moderate Drought conditions just over the border in PA & WV.  Garrett/Allegany/Washington counties could use the rain.

If it could avoid the weekend that would be great :)

DCA was at 89 right when that thunderstorm went through.  They've had 11 consecutive days under 90.  Only four 90-degree days this month so far.

Looks like Summer of 2020 will be remembered as mostly a 5 week stretch of hot weather.  The other parts of the summer haven't been that bad.

Just missed the good storm here at work. Rained a little as it passed south.  Home got it good tho.  Will find out how much soon.

This has not been a hot summer. We're really failing at everything these day.

Nice! Cell aimed at me just went severe. It will fizzle before it gets here. Guaranteed. Haha.

Eta: Yup. Nothing but a nice shower. Good energy in AA County though.

Downpour underway 7:10pm on east side of Columbia.

Like two rumbles of thunder and a quick downpour. Four days in a row of a rain shower with less than 0.1” of rain each.

Given the pressure falls ahead of Laura and increased cloud cover, Saturday AM would be a good day to go fishing early

I've found pretty good success freshwater fishing prior to remnants of tropical cyclones coming up these parts. We probably aren't going to see any decent flooding or severe weather from it so might as well try to score a nice day pond hopping from it.
