Probably because it tends to reach criteria a lot for the region

Prob would be more useful to see them split here. May look into it but know that data is messy. LWX does a fine job overall but I think it is true they issue svr much more readily than pulling the trigger from advisory to warning. But it is prob partly a case of them following the criteria more directly for heat vs issuing svr for 40 mph winds since it'll bring down some dead trees. Plus the differences in office ideology matter so it's hard to compare across them. PHL gets way more warnings than we do with their special criteria as well, despite us looking like a hotspot.

Gots some rain back home . Here in OC it's a real nice evening...after a high around 80 . Its low 70s with a breeze . Great beer drinking weather on the balcony

It's been a stiff breeze in OC today.  Kept the beaches nice and non-crowded.  I'm glad we'll be here for the heat this weekend.

from the morning LWX AFD... can't wait :maphot::maphot:

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
High pressure at the surface and aloft will dominate over the
southeastern U.S. and western Atlantic through the early portion of
next week. This will allowing for hot and very humid conditions to
persist across our region. Monday looking to be the hottest day next
week with triple digit readings certainly possible across portions
of the metros and northern Virginia. Combine this with dewpoints in
the low to middle 70s, heat indices will likely be hovering near
Advisory level range both Monday and Tuesday for portions of the
CWA.

It’s been a tad odd here last 2/3 nights with solid late night early morning hour breezes from e-se and very humid at same time

HIs of 100 even 105 I’ve grown to be able to handle. Most summers we get a few of those. 110 is too much.

We are on the front edge of a legit heat wave, and you can feel it. Its really happening this time.

89/78 here. Wasn't expecting the dew points to be quite this high today. It's sultry out there. Its gonna get hot up in here. Cue Nelly.

I’m confused by these posts with high dewpoints. DP here is 59 with a temp of 93. Humidity is at 32%. Even Dulles only has a DP of 66. Is there some boundary out there that I don’t know about?

I can make out some sort of weak frontal boundary evidenced by the rapid dropoff in SBCAPE west of the Chesapeake Bay. Dews are really high in the Delmarva because they are east of the boundary. Tomorrow's dews will likely only be in the mid-upper 60s regionwide so maybe a sneaky 100 in spots.
