Sort of baffled with reports of sleet all around me.  At ~240 feet in NW DC.  33.8degrees Rain

It's light over here in 20783/20742/College Park/University Park/Hyattsville/Adelphi/MD 193.  A few pings, but clearly rain outside my window.

For all of you worried about getting a WSW... from LWX

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/...
The coastal low will be strengthening Wednesday morning off the
coast with much of the area continue to see snow falling.
Progression of this low to the east northeast is a bit slower
than previous guidance had been indicating. This is depicted
with the lastest ECMWF run and to a lesser extent the GFS/NAM.
Implications of this would be a longer duration event extending
in to the evening hours on Wednesday before precipitation pulls
off to our east. Decision on warning vs. advisory will likely
occur within the next few hours.

I am in Laurel. Switchover to sleet just happened. Temps feel like they’re dropping quick.

Temp is still dropping even with a lull the last hour.  Front porch railing now iced over when before it was just wet.  Looks like the heavy precip is about to return any minute.

Glad to see the radar starting to fill back in to my SW. I was getting a little concerned with this lull. But even if the snow ended now this would be my second biggest event of the year. Sad but true. :)

Report from my folks in Greene County, VA, on the east side of the Blue Ridge at about 1800 feet: a little over 0.5 inches of rain overnight, sleeting right now and the trees have a tiny bit of glaze.

Yeah, I'm getting a steady drop here as the heavier stuff begins to push into the area. Down to 32.2/31 now.

Real steady light snow now in HdG at sea level. I don’t think there’s any sleet.

Heavy sleep just flipped to heavy snow here in APG and its starting to stick. HRRR looks great for our area (FWIW). Lets enjoy this one. We've earned it!

1 inch so far of snow/sleet in Smithsburg M.D.. Kind of surprised that sleet has been mixed in the majority of the time.

Currently light snow/sleet combo.
