burrel2
Winds have picked up out of the east and temps are finally starting to drop here, down to 47.3, still have a long ways to go though...
oconeexman
Down to 45 and breezy. Recon I'll get up around 5 to see if it delivers a dusting!
No snow for you
We have stalled at 42.3 for the last 20 mins or so. Like said above, I think this may bust for Greenville as the mountains hold the warm weather in as the cold goes over top.
drfranklin
I have 41 degrees just south of downtown Greenville, SC
J.C.
The temps were way higher than forecasted east of the mountains today, and they keep saying that these northeasterly winds are going to drop the temperatures, well its 40F in Raleigh right now. All the cold air is oozing around the Blue Ridge Mountains north of Atlanta, which is why areas over there are starting to drop. Unless winds start shifting more northerly around here, I'll expect I'll wake up to a temperature right about where I am now, 45F. It's happened to many times before. FallsLake
Just hit 32.0 and it's clear as a whistle. Looking to go down to the lower 20s tonight and then maybe see that dusting to an inch tomorrow. Definitely would not have any issues sticking. HWY316wx
We are in the heat zone over here. Much like the 1" snowmegedon last year. Cobb was slick and Gwinnett had gotten too warm and it didn't want to stick. Hoping the temps will drop on down before the next batch of precip gets here. Hugo
I am happy for you. We have stalled at 42 here and it ain't moving. 20 minutes is not stalling. It's pretty common for temps to fall in uneven increments.
Lookout
i was thinking the same thing, but the temp here has really plunged. from 58 mid afternoon and its currently 38.5 lol bring it on! yes, yes it did lol. about a 20 degree drop in 4 hours or so once it started dropping it really dropped - finally in the upper 30s here. hopefully the cold air is working itself in You got a lot colder uh? I'll be damned...i heard you might I always envy you because you get colder so much easier/quicker than here. Still 45 here. btw you will be happy with the latest rap..0.50 up your way

J.C.
The rain that is moving east of Atlanta is definitely in association with the movement of the cold air in from the west, which is why everybody over there has seen rapidly falling temperatures. Rankin5150
Sitting at 38 ATTM. I am hoping all my friends in the Alabama, Georgia and SC get A LOT MORE SNOW (which is very possible) than shown and ever dreamed of. You all are LOOONG OVERDUE!! The law of averages has to bend in your favor sooner of later. This seems to be that kind of winter. If I do not get a dang thing, I WILL be SO HAPPY for you guys and gals!! I am curious to see exactly where the precipitation sets back up/back building. I am also seeing a setup for a comma head to develop in the Carolina's for the Wednesday/Thursday storm. I cannot help but think that tomorrow and the Weds/Thurs storm are connected somehow?? Whomever is under that, they will be sitting pretty with a few hours of HEAVY SNOW!! WHOO HOO!!! i keep seeing some trends for the CLT area to get DRYSLOTTED. It is subtle right now, but something to watch. I am prepping to see some areas lower down south to make out pretty well with some decent snow. Good luck all!!! Jason
Iceagewhereartthou
39 here now in Easley - been dropping better than I thought. We'll see if it gets below freezing or not. Precip looks anemic though.

HWY316wx
Looking at weather stations the freezing line seems to be back over the lake Guntersville / Cullman Alabama area. So still a ways to go before the freezing temps get here.
HWY316wx
This system seems to be falling apart as it moves east? What do you guys think? RAP simulated radar shows it falling apart and then re-developing over GA.
1bert1
This system seems to be falling apart as it moves east? What do you guys think? From GSP AN INVERTED SFC TROF IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG AND WEST OF THE SAVANNAH RIVER VALLEY. THE COMBINATION OF LLVL CONVERGENCE...UPSLOPE FLOW...AND MID/UPPER FORCING SHOULD SUPPORT AN EXPANDING AREA OF PRECIP LATE TONIGHT ACROSS THE MTNS AND UPPER SAVANNAH RIVER VALLEY. DURING THE PRE DAWN HOURS...HIGH PRESSURE RIDGING WILL RAPIDLY INCREASE ACROSS THE CENTRAL CAROLINAS...RESULTING IN COLD AIR DAMMING. THIS PATTERN WILL SUPPORT CAA ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH SUNRISE. THERMAL PROFILES INDICATES THAT THE PRECIP WILL FALL PRIMARILY AS SNOW. J.C.
It is still 50F in Hartwell, Georgia with cold air approaching from the northeast and the west. You have mid 30s 100 miles to the southwest and around 40F in Greenville, 55 miles to the northeast. Pretty remarkable for no frontal boundaries. audioguy3107
Down to 35.6 in Dunwoody. If you're already down to 35.6, you'll be fine over there. It's still about 40 here, so we've got a ways to go. I'd look fr some development around 12 to 1 AM, hopefully we can get down to at least 36 or 37 by then. - Buck
