I'm completely dumbfounded.

Didn't expect rain....so much for evaporational cooling, and locking in the radiational cooling with cloud cover.

rad cooling doesn't necessarily get locked in by clouds. Clouds reemit longwave rad back to the sfc. It can limit insolation and mixing, but only to an extent.

That's fine, but a few different mets were discussing why that particular phenomenon was one of the reasons to favor snow.

Wasn't enough, at least initially....anyway, apparently 2 miles n of me is pounding away.

Rad cooling helps for a degree or two, but two things...one is that it warned at 950mb. Two.....temps do eventually creep up, but not a whole lot.

This is what I can't stand about this particular locale....never close enough to avail of oes, yet just close enough to the ocean to endure frequent 32.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 rains of this ilk.

Need to either $hit, or get off the pot....ie move closer to the ocean, or about 5 miles to the nw.

Give it a chance my friend. Let's see what happens when the good lift moves in.
