Regardless, this is all banter and it should be taken to that thread. I try to kindly to back off and end it humbly, and you continue w/ a non-sequitur argument. One does not have to actual live in any given area to know and understand its climate, and all its local nuances and changes over time. Can we be more civil and respectful here? Kinda worried now as our house for sale in PF has the power still out, which means the sump pump isn’t working. Our agent is checking on it tomorrow but I’m kind of expecting the worst now (i.e. flooded basement). What a day this has been. Lol 0.89 from last night is the total so far and is probably similar for PF. Based on radar, I think they got a lot more down in the southern part of the county. Forecast has us dry here through tonight and more showers tomorrow. Other than last night, it has been extremely dry here.

Herb@MAWS Posted yesterday at 11:47 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:47 AM 0.20” for 7/4 imby/Columbia, which is also the monthly July total at this point. Not much rain, but still a fairly nice watering of shrubs, grass, etc.

Might have been the strongest winds I’ve seen since moving here in ‘18. Heard there power outages in Owings Mills and Reisterstown and a tree fell on house in Reisterstown as well. Yes one of the more intense storms I've witnessed.

Kay Posted yesterday at 01:56 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:56 PM Power still out. Ton of BGE outages in Harford, reducing but very slowly. I went out to get coffee and survey, saw trees and limbs down all around. Sticks and leaves plastered everywhere. Did not see any trees on wires on my route and only one partial roadblock, on my street, but could drive around. 0.49" total

Good news though, HI=air temp, so better than July 2 when I had a HI of 125. Finally I can really say…ya, but it’s a dry heat! I keep thinking my PWS runs warm with temps. But you hitting 106 makes my 106 seem legit. It’s 3 days in a row where I’ve topped 104. That’s just nuts

DDweatherman
Just now getting back on the grid, power is still out here. Absurd how fast and hard the wind came in yesterday, widespread damage between Taneytown and Emmittsburg. Can confirm it was worthy of that PDS designation. doing a damage tour with the wife right now, one of our most impressive storms in years with regards to ground truth.
high risk
As others have alluded to, the lower dew points yesterday probably led to so much downdraft cape that the damaging winds superseded the heavy rainfall threat. With higher dews today, the HRRR in particular suggests a greater heavy rain threat, although it delays initiation later than several other cams.
