This needs to be brought back under control.  Who's running the show at these agencies?  A special marine morning with "a strong shower" and a FFW when I can't find anything more than some sprinkles within 100mi on radar. We've reached Baghdad Bob levels of forecasting.  I guess if you're gonna be wrong all the time you might as well be spectacularly wrong.  Get it to together, you're supposed to be pros.

Special marine warnings?  Those are a dime a dozen.  Special marine warnings used to be only for convective wx, now a typical cold FROPA prompts them.  Or "wind burst," whatever that is.  Gradient winds will already be strong and wind advisories or high wind warnings out, which cover things well, and you get special marine warnings independent of any convection.

More warnings/alerts are not always better.  There comes a point of diminishing returns.  Apathy, for one, b/c of too many warnings.  Ppl start tuning out.  It's not good to be "held hostage" by the wx.  And business and commerce gets more disrupted b/c officials/authorities cancel more b/c of hearing increasing amounts of alerts/warnings.  This has real economic impact.

Mission accomplished. I caught my jumbos today. Beautiful day for crabbing. The rain held off until we were done crabbing and sitting outside on the screen porch eating. I probably have gotten close to an inch so far. Radar looks interesting.

Just before a June full moon is jumbo season. Last year’s mudders

The 3km NAM has a couple of 6-7" bullseyes for later today in the area.  Of course, it has a 4" one this morning and nobody is getting that, so trust level = low.

0.32" since Friday.

LOL. Another month or so and its finally put out to pasture?

Finally getting some useless sprinkles this morning.

0.05" for the event!

With the big heat on the way and only low probability for showers the end of the week, the monthly total here will be less than 1.5". 4 months straight below avg and only one of those months was above 50% of normal.

Exceptional drought category is a possibility. Pretty sure I have never seen that here.

Oh I think we hit exceptional for sure after July and Aug both less than 1.0 total rainfall and many 100-degree days

Your call for extreme heat is happening.  Very rare to see the Extreme Heat watch issued. Going to be brutal, not to mention the dew points and real feel temps.

Wow, that is sad.

I wonder what your soil moisture is down there.      https://www.greencastonline.com/tools/soil-moisture

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get .80 in the cells that formed SW of me near Warwick and Galena.

If these sprinkles continue I may crack 0.02” as a weekend total

Dumping. Up to 0.04”. Another hour or two and I’ll exceed daily average precip for late June!

Over .5 of an inch with the convergence axis shifting over me this morning. Probably will pick up close to an inch.

Past 1 inch now as it’s a downpour. The rainfall rate is over 1.5 inch an hour at times.
