I forget what it's like to have a rainy day where we get like 1.50". It's been since last fall if I remember correctly. All we get these days is a shower or sprinkles.

Another day, another forecast bust by the pros.  Local mesonet says 0.01".  I got more than that in my yard but still not enough to even soak through the leaf layer on the ground.

If so, they broke the rule this week............ 100% and 90% for 36 hours resulted in .01"

0.05 total and less than a tenth combined with last weeks "rain event."  I'm about ready to just give up on trying to get a new yard going.  I don't expect any real rain until probably the fall.

Caught a glimpse of some kelvin-helmholtz clouds this morning. Always neat to see, since they seem to dissappear so quickly.

Started to rain around 12:30 last night so I checked the radar. Huge red blob in southern Fairfax/PW counties. Northwestern tip of it touching I66 in western Fairfax. I only got light rain and one distant rumble of thunder. It looked like the blob might hit DCA but checking this morning, they just got a few hundredths too.

Yeah, felt like a lucky night - that it happened overnight was good too because it allowed it to soak in better instead of the sun baking it off.

Yea I can still workout in wind pants.  I’d like it to be warmer, but the sunshine today is top shelf.

Running a -5.5 for the first week of the month, only + day was the 6th (+2.4 degrees) and looks like Saturday and Sunday may be the only days with a chance at positive numbers thru the next 7 days. Chilly May start.
